PETKIT vs PETLIBRO (2026): Smart Feeders, Fountains and What Runs on Refills

PETKIT and PETLIBRO make the same kinds of things, timed feeders, camera feeders and filtered fountains, and both sell them on Amazon through Amazon.com or their own stores. Buy PETLIBRO if you want a bigger 5 L hopper, larger kibble or a camera feeder that records to a memory card; buy PETKIT if you want a compact 3 L feeder, face recognition for several pets or the longest-running cordless fountain. This page compares both on the makers' own specs, then lists the refills each one runs on: desiccant packs for the feeders and filters for the fountains.

Kibble limits and backup details come from PETLIBRO's pages for the Granary Wi-Fi feeder and Granary camera feeder, and PETKIT's pages for the Fresh Element Solo and YumShare Solo 2, its 3 L non-camera and camera feeders.

Hopper size and kibble limits

PETLIBRO's Granary feeders hold 5 L. PETLIBRO lists the Granary Wi-Fi as model PLAF103 with "Allowed Kibble Sized: 2-15mm," and gives the same 2 to 15 mm range for the camera model. Each portion is "about 20ml/10g ≈ 1/12 cup," it says, and the feeders are for dry food only: asked whether the Granary works with wet food, PETLIBRO answers "No."

PETKIT's 3 L feeders are smaller. PETKIT says its 3 L hopper stores "about 1.33kg (2.9lbs) of food, which is enough to feed an adult cat for 15 days," and asks you to "avoid dry kibble with a diameter over 12mm (0.47in) or freeze-dried kibble with a diameter over 9mm." Portions are 1/10 cup on the non-camera listing, and PETKIT's comparison chart gives 1 to 5 portions of 10 to 50 g per meal on its single-hopper feeders.

In practice: a cat on small kibble is fine with either. A large-breed dog kibble near 15 mm points to PETLIBRO, and so does a meal that needs more than five portions. Whichever you buy, weigh one portion of your own food, because a portion is a volume and kibbles differ. Power cuts, Wi-Fi and the camera

Both brands keep meals coming on batteries, but not everything else.

• PETLIBRO Granary Wi-Fi: "The USB adapter and battery backup ensure that even if there is a power outage, the feeder will continue to feed your pet," per PETLIBRO, using three alkaline D batteries you buy separately.
• PETLIBRO Granary camera: PETLIBRO says to use batteries only in emergencies, and that on batteries "the WiFi function, camera function, record button and reset button, are all disabled to extend battery life, while meal schedules will be carried out normally." It also says not to use rechargeable batteries.
• PETKIT Fresh Element Solo: "After installing five AAA batteries, the feeder will still dispense food according to the feeding schedule," per PETKIT, with the batteries sold separately.
• PETKIT YumShare Solo 2: PETKIT's page promises "14-Day Power Backup" and notes "Camera disabled in battery mode." The same page lists five AAA batteries in its specs and four D batteries in its FAQ, so check the manual in the box before you buy batteries.

So in an outage, neither camera feeder keeps streaming. Plan on a person checking in if you will be away overnight.

Cameras and what needs a subscription

PETLIBRO's Granary camera feeder has a 1080p camera with a 145° lens and infrared night vision, and it "supports up to 256GB micro SD card (package not included) or Video Cloud (paid subscription)," per the listing. PETLIBRO adds that Video Cloud works with that feeder only and that each feeder needs its own subscription. Its newer Granary 2 Vision goes further on AI: PETLIBRO's page says a Petlibro Care subscription is required for alerts about changes in eating habits, and a Video Cloud AI subscription for recording and playback.

PETKIT's camera feeder has a 1080p camera with a 140° view, infrared night vision and face recognition for "up to 15 pets," per the listing. Its listing says "videos can be saved on secure cloud storage for easy viewing anytime (Certain services need to be purchased in the app)," and PETKIT's listing for its dual-hopper camera feeder advertises "free live streaming." The 3 L listing does not mention a memory card slot.

Both let you cut the camera: PETKIT's listing says you can set the camera's operating time and disable voice recording in the app. If a camera feeder is really about watching the room, compare it with a standalone camera in our pet camera guide.

Wireless pumps and cordless fountains

The two brands keep electricity out of the water in different ways.

PETKIT uses what it calls a wireless pump: on the Solo 2, "there are no wires inside the water pump fountain body, only one USB power cable on the base," and the body lifts off the powered base for filling. The Solo 2 must stay plugged in to run. The Eversweet Max 2 adds a battery: "5000mAh high-capacity battery, service life up to 83 days," and PETKIT says "except for the battery pack, all other parts are dishwasher safe." In sensor mode, water runs for one minute when a pet comes within 3.94 inches.

PETLIBRO's Dockstream 2 has no pump in the tank at all. PETLIBRO says a small magnetic rotor sits in the bottom of the tank and a magnetic driver in the base spins it, so "no wires are submerged in water." The cordless version gives "up to 30 days of battery life on a single charge," and PETLIBRO's footnote says that figure is "based on usage by a single pet in sensor-activated flow mode." Both Dockstream 2 versions weigh the water to track how much your pet drinks.

Treat both battery figures as each maker's best case: more pets, or continuous flow, will run a battery down sooner.

The refills each brand runs on

This is the part you keep buying after the device itself.

PETLIBRO answers the desiccant question directly: "It is recommended to change the desiccant bag every 2 weeks to prevent mold growth," on its Granary pages; its desiccant listing on Amazon says "once every half month." PETKIT describes its desiccant as premium silica gel that "absorbs moisture to protect every kibble" and lists desiccant replacement among the feeder's app notifications, but its desiccant page gives no interval.

On filters, PETLIBRO's filter guidance says "every two weeks" for one pet. PETKIT's Filter Unit 3.0 page says "Replace every 60 days in smart mode and 30 days in normal mode," while its Eversweet Solo 2 FAQ says every four weeks, so four weeks is the safe reading. Who each brand suits

• Buy PETLIBRO for a large hopper, kibble up to 15 mm, a camera feeder that records to a memory card, or a fountain that measures intake by weight. Expect to change feeder desiccant and fountain filters every two weeks.
• Buy PETKIT for a compact feeder, face recognition across up to 15 pets, or a cordless fountain that PETKIT rates for up to 83 days per charge. Its filters last longer between changes, per PETKIT, but its feeders take smaller kibble.
• Either if you have one cat on ordinary kibble; then pick on the app you prefer and whether you want a camera at all.
